Advantages

1. High specific strength. Compared with steel, titanium alloy has similar strength, but its density is only about 60% of that of steel, about 4.5g/cm3; its elastic modulus is much lower than that of steel, ranging from 1.078×105 to 1.176×105MPa. In other words, the strength of titanium alloy is similar to that of steel, but it has low dead weight and good elasticity, making it convenient for transportation, hoisting and processing. Thanks to this characteristic, parts with good rigidity and light weight can be manufactured, such as engine components, aircraft frames, landing gear, fasteners, etc.

2. High thermal strength. The melting point of titanium is 1725℃, and its thermal conductivity is 15.24W/(m·K). It can still maintain good strength at moderate temperatures. Compared with aluminum alloy, the strength decreases significantly when the ambient temperature reaches 150℃, while titanium alloy can still meet certain strength requirements in an environment of 450~500℃.

3. Strong corrosion resistance. The chemical components in titanium alloy materials react chemically with nitrogen and oxygen in the air to form a protective layer on the surface of the material, thereby improving the corrosion resistance. It has strong resistance to pitting, acid corrosion, and stress corrosion; it has good corrosion resistance to strong acids and organic substances.
